About this story
Marcus and Jaylen have been part of each other’s lives for fifteen years: late-night calls, family dinners, inside jokes and a closeness neither man has ever fully explained. Marcus has learned not to ask for more. Now he is building something real with Andre, a boyfriend who makes being cared for feel easy.
Then Jaylen says the thing he should have said years ago. What begins as a confession forces Marcus to question the friendship he trusts, the relationship he wants and how much either man has chosen to tell him. Set in Metro Detroit, Just the Homie is a romantic drama about love, jealousy and the cost of keeping someone close without being honest about why.
